She graduated from the Escuela Universitaria de Música (Uruguay) with the highest marks.
Later on, she studied in the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart
(Germany) where she specialized in baroque transverse flute with the professor
Hans-Joachin Fuss.
She occupied the position of first flute in Sinfónica Juvenil del MEC (Ministry of Education
and Culture, Uruguay).
She became first flute in the Orquesta Sinfónica del Mercosur, in the city of Rio de Janeiro
(1999) and first solo flute in the Orquesta Sinfónica del SODRE (OSSODRE).
In 2021 she was invited by the Orquestra Nacional (Sodre) to participate as a soloist
interpreting the concert for Flute, Harp and the W. Mozart orchestra in the Auditorio Nacional
del Uruguay.
In addition to her orchestral practice, Margarita Gonzalez carries an intense activity in
chamber music. She has been invited to play in Argentina (Teatro Argentino de La Plata and
Ciudad de Mendoza) and in Brasil (Porto Alegre and Rio de Janeiro).
Margarita Gonzalez plays a Brannen-Cooper flute thanks to the support of the National
Music Fund (FONAM), Uruguay
